The Enterprise TV Web Player is a simple interface that provides video playback and clipping through your web browser.
The
first time you click a Play link in the web interface (for example, from
the home page, the library or from a search result) you may see this
message:
The
Web Player installer is downloaded from the SnapStream appliance, not
the internet. No internet access is required for the installation
process.
•
System requirements and software prerequisites for the Web Player can be found in the SnapStream knowledgebase.
•
Web Player installation does not require administrator privileges, although installation of the software prerequisites does.
•
The Windows Web Player is supported in Internet Explorer 10 and above, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari. The Mac Web Player is supported in Firefox 8 and above and Safari 5. For full system requirements, see our knowledgebase.
•
The
aspect ratio of the playback window will always be 16:9, regardless of
the format of the content being displayed. SD content will display black
bars on either side of the picture. HD content will fit to the window.
•
The
apparent aspect ratio of the picture will always be the native aspect
ratio of the recording (4:3 for SD content, 16:9 for HD)
•
The
Web Player does allow for the playback of multiple videos in different
browser windows or browser tabs. However, this can have a negative
impact on performance if too many playback sessions are running
simultaneously.
•
The
Web Player supports in-progress playback of MPEG-2 program (MPG) and
transport stream (TP) and H.264 transport stream formats. Pre-recorded
playback is available for MPG, TP, Windows Media (WMV), H.264/MPEG-4,
and DivX formats.
•
The
Mac Web Player supports in-progress and pre-recorded playback of MPEG-2
transport stream (TP) and H.264 transport stream formats. Pre-recorded
playback is available for MPEG-2 program stream (MPG), TP and
H.264/MPEG-4 formats.
•
The
Web Player will be installed only for the user who is currently logged
in. If another user logs in, they will need to install the plug-in
again.
