Options for detailed configuration of tuners that have been added to SnapStream are available on the Edit Tuner page.
IMPORTANT! See the bottom of this page for important information about changing tuner settings.
Basic Properties
Name
The name that Enterprise TV assigns to this tuner. By default, this name refers to the number of this tuner as reported by the tuner driver, and this number matches the labeling on the chassis of the server on which the tuner is installed. You can change this name to whatever you wish. In order to make troubleshooting easier, it is generally a good idea to leave the number of the tuner in the Name field somewhere.
Priority
The priority of the tuner as displayed on the Tuners page.
Tuner Signal Type
Indicates whether this is a Digital or Analog tuner. This option is set by the tuner driver and cannot be changed.
Input Type
This option defines the RF tuning space. Options are Cable and Antenna.
Country
This option defines the RF tuning space.
Video Device
The name of the video device for this tuner, as reported by the tuner card driver.
Audio Input
Select the option that matches your input method. Select Auto for the first input in the list.
Video Input
Select the option that matches your input method. Select Auto for the first input in the list.
Override Color Settings
Select this option to see options for adjusting the appearance of the video.
Lock Tuner
Use this option if you are using RF cable to feed the tuner from an external device, such as a VCR, cable box, or QAM encoder, that outputs on a specific frequency.
Enabled
If this option is unchecked, the tuner will be disabled.
Channel Lineup
The list of channels that are available to this tuner. See Program Guide settings for more information.
External Tuning Properties
Select an option from the External Tuning Interface drop-down to see the settings for that option. Note: If you are using S-video or Composite input or the Lock Tuner option, but you are not using an external tuning solution, you MUST select Null Tuner from this list, not None.
USB-UIRT (IR blasting)
Upload External Tuner Config File
Use this option if you have a config file for IR blasting that you wish to use.
Select Cable/Satellite Box Model
Select the model of the cable or satellite box that you are using. If your model does not appear here, see our IR Blasting Guide.
Device Name
If you have multiple USB-UIRT devices, their drivers will report different device names so that they can be controller individually. The physical devices should be labeled with these names.
Pad Count
This option allows the addition of leading zeroes before a channel signal is sent. The total length of the channel code will equal this number. For example, if the Pad Count is 4 and the channel number 54 is entered, the code that is sent will be 0054.
Repeat Rate
The number of times that each digit will be sent. NOTE: the default setting works well in most cases.
Time Delay
The number of milliseconds between digit transmissions. NOTE: the default setting works well in most cases.
Use Wake Up
Sends a command to "wake up" the receiver before sending the channel code. This option is useful for DirecTV and other receivers that enter "sleep" mode when not in use. NOTE: Most pre-set cable box options DO NOT have this option set. If it is not set, IR tuning will fail.
Post Wake Up Delay
Indicates the amount of time to wait after sending the Wake Up command.
Use Enter After
Send an Enter signal after channel transmission.
Use Padding
Determines whether the Pad Count setting is obeyed.
Zone
The Tuning Zone for this tuner. Each USB-UIRT device has 2 effective tuning zones, one for each blink emitter. These should be labeled on the physical device.
Also Tune Internal
Use this setting for a digital tuner that needs to tune an RF channel while also setting the channel on a cable or satellite receiver.
Blast UIRT commands
Allows manual control of the UIRT attached to this tuner. To test IR blasting for a particular tuner, see Manual IR Blasting.
Serial Tuning
Select Cable/Satellite Box Model
Select the model of the cable or satellite box that you are using. Currently, only DirecTV satellite receivers are support with this option.
COM Port
The COM port to which this receiver is connected.
Also Tune Internal
Use this setting for a digital tuner that needs to tune an RF channel while also setting the channel on a cable or satellite receiver.
DirecTV Web Tuning
This option allows the channel to be set on DirecTV receivers by connecting them to the network. This tuning method is experimental and is not fully supported by SnapStream. If you wish to use this tuning method, please contact SnapStream support for assistance.
Null Tuner
Use the Null Tuner option if you are using S-video or Composite input with no tuning.
IMPORTANT! Some changes to these tuner properties may require the tuner to be restarted before they take effect. If this is the case, the following dialog will appear after the Save button is clicked.
