The Windows Web Player is supported in Internet Explorer 10 and above, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari. The Mac Web Player is supported in Firefox 8 and above and Safari 5. For full system requirements, see our knowledgeable.
The apparent aspect ratio of the picture will always be the native aspect ratio of the recording (4:3 for SD content, 16:9 for HD)
The Web Player supports in-progress playback of MPEG-2 program (MPG) and transport stream (TP) and H.264 transport stream formats. Pre-recorded playback is available for MPG, TP, Windows Media (WMV), H.264/MPEG-4, and DivX formats.
The Web Player will be installed only for the user who is currently logged in. If another user logs in, they will need to install the plug-in again.
The Mac Web Player supports in-progress and pre-recorded playback of MPEG-2 transport stream (TP) and H.264 transport stream formats. Pre-recorded playback is available for MPEG-2 program stream (MPG), TP and H.264/MPEG-4 formats.
The Web Player does allow for the playback of multiple videos in different browser windows or browser tabs. However, this can have a negative impact on performance if too many playback sessions are running simultaneously.
The aspect ratio of the playback window will always be 16:9, regardless of the format of the content being displayed. SD content will display black bars on either side of the picture. HD content will fit to the window.
Web Player installation does not require administrator privileges, although installation of the software prerequisites does.
The Web Player installer is downloaded from the SnapStream appliance, not the internet. No internet access is required for the installation process.
